Cady's Falls Nursery and Summertime Weather

I've had a nice vacation time over at Faerie Boots and Foie Gras (minus the discovery of advertisements being embedded within the blog by Wordpress-------their bread and butter to keep it running, I guess).

Summer seems to have arrived in the Northeast, and that has allowed us to get out into the country a bit for relaxing day trips and wonderful gardens to be seen.

On one day, Cadys Falls Nursery was our destination of choice, where we found ourselves wandering along pathways lined with pitcher plants and ornamental conifers, succulents, rock gardens, and little ponds complete with plant material, frogs, and active little fish.

Everything seems well-cared for there, and the gardens are a rejuvenating escape from the noise and busyness of everyday "cityness" and the concerns of modern life.

The farmers market has also been a marvelous source of color and abundant produce, even this time of year.  I've been loading up on rhubarb and putting up sauce with vanilla bean and honey.

Blog work is slow, in part because I'm getting used to using a different computer.  It's a very different system from my previous one, so processing photos is taking even longer.  But here's one that I managed to edit enough to include here.

I spied this little guy over Memorial Day weekend.

No new doll work to post just yet, though I am working on a custom doll.

Thought I'd give a blog post a try on the new system.

Off to tackle an overflowing kitchen cabinet-------The pots and pans are staging a coup!
Hope you enjoyed the pics!
