The Story of Rose and Francine

Rose and Francine were created in the Vermont winter of 2010-2011.  I was just beginning to explore doll making, and they were my first prototype dolls that were the closest to the kinds of dolls I wanted to be creating.  Francine (brown hair) came first, and Rose followed as an example of more refined craftsmanship.

The dolls I make now are further evolved, but Rose and Francine were my first loves, and they continue to be a focus of my storytelling work.  They are the best of friends, and there have been many stories about them told in pictures, which originated as posts on my previous blog, Faerie Boots and Foie Gras.  Newer stories can be found on this blog, as well as stories to yet come.

Rose and Francine love visits over tea,

have traveled to Maine together,

and sometimes have their own solo adventures.

In the spring of 2011, Rose became the star of my first self-published book, Puppet Magic: Evening in the Garden.  (Click on the title for a description.)
This January/February 2012, Rose and Francine celebrated one year together during the one year birthday of Bonne Nuit Designs.  It was a marvelous party

You will be able to find Rose and Francine stories here on the Bonne Nuit Designs blog, on Faerie Boots and Foie Gras, or you can purchase a copy of my book here.

I hope you enjoy their dollie world.  They bring much joy to their maker : )
